Security Time-out
For your security and the security of your clients' tax information, CompleteTax and CompleteTax Toolkit automatically require users to log in again after 20 minutes of inactivity.


Page Loading Issues

Since a number of pages interact with ProSystem fx Tax, please make sure each page has fully loaded before trying to perform Toolkit functions. Likewise, every page in CompleteTax is saved when your clients navigate from one page to the next within the online program. Your clients should make sure each page has fully loaded before continuing to enter their tax data. The completion of the loading process is indicated by the word "Done" in the bottom left corner of your browser window.


Pop-up Blockers

If you are using pop-up blocking software, it must be disabled.


Printing Issues
When using an Adobe® Acrobat® product that displays PDF files on a Macintosh, your Acrobat window may display behind the browser window.

Common Error Messages
When moving from page to page or attempting to print, you or your clients may encounter the following error messages:

1. This page contains both secure and nonsecure items
2. Error Locating Object Handler


Toolkit Only: Using Toolkit without ProSystem fx Tax Installed
The Toolkit functions will be limited to the Home, Configure Firm, Status and Correspondence tabs. Your firm's account number as well as your user ID and password are required to log in.


System Requirements for CompleteTax and CompleteTax Toolkit

Browser Settings

  • CompleteTax and CompleteTax Toolkit require the following browser settings to allow dynamic programming.
  • Cookies must be allowed. Note: IE 6.x users must set the Privacy setting to Medium or lower.
  • ActiveX controls must be enabled.


JavaScript must be enabled.

The site is best viewed with browser text size set to Medium, which is usually the default setting. Click here to learn how to adjust your browser text size.

Proxy Connection

If your internet connection requires a proxy server, you need to ensure that your browser settings are set up for both HTTP and secure sites. Click here to learn how to adjust your proxy settings.


Monitor Display Settings

CompleteTax and CompleteTax Toolkit require a resolution of at least 800 x 600 pixels and are best viewed with system fonts set to Small Fonts. Click here to learn how to adjust your Windows display properties.


Printing Requirements

Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® 4.05 or higher must be installed to print or view your client's tax return and some administrative reports.
